Inspected and Found – We found no communication to the PCM. There was a blown 20A fuse for the PCM. We replaced it and now the vehicle starts. The ignition lock cylinder feels very crunchy and it will need to be replaced. Neither battery will charge, and come up as replace on the tester. We also found a blown fuse for the TCM and replaced it. We installed a tester battery and now have communication with the TCM and PCM. The vehicle starts and runs, but will not move when put in gear and there is a code of P0701 (Transmission Control System Range/Performance). We will need more diagnosis time to find the fault causing this code. With further inspection we found that there is no line pressure in the transmission. The transmission and transfer case appear to have been recently replaced. This may be covered by warranty with the original installer.

Inspected and Found – The key off draw was measuring at .005-.006 of an amp. After sitting for awhile, this spiked up to .303 of an amp. We traced this back to the instrument cluster that was installed in 2021. This part is under warranty, but the labor is out of warranty.

Inspected and Found – We found cylinder #1 is misfiring, and could see through the oil cap hole, the rocker is not moving, indicating either a failed lifter, or possibly a damaged camshaft. After removing the cylinders heads, we found the camshaft is not damaged and will only need the lifters replaced.

Inspected and Found – The main noise was a result of the driveline center support bearing fasteners needing to be re-torqued to specifications. After doing this, the main noise is gone. There is still a slight clunk from the rear of the vehicle just as it comes to a stop. This is likely from a shock bushing, or another bushing, but can not pinpoint it at this time. It will need to develop to verify and remedy this. There is also a slight shake above 50mph. Recommend having the tires re-balanced.

Inspected and Found – The window regulator was removed before arrival. The regulator appears to have been ran all the way down after removal, and has kinked the cable. The initial failure of the window was the window switch. The front sway bar end links are very worn out, likely causing the clunking noise that is being heard. Recommend replacing them. Also recommend taking the vehicle to an alignment shop to check for damage.

Inspected & Found – All of the vehicle fluids, tune up items, belts and coolant hoses are in good condition. Front brakes are at about 20%. Rear brakes are at about 70%. We replaced the right taillight assembly due to being broken. The left taillight should also be replaced but was not available at this time. The reverse light was full of water, so we drilled a small drain hole.

Inspected & Found – The coolant level is slightly low with no obvious signs of leaking. The rear differential was about a 1/2 quart low. It is leaking at the rear pinion, past the nut. The transmission, power steering, brake, and transfer case fluids are starting to get dark. The tune up items are starting to show wear. The belts are cracking. The coolant hoses are in good condition. Front brakes are at about 30% remaining. Rear brakes are at about 80% remaining.

Inspected and Found – During our test drive, the vehicle did not overheat, but we did find codes P00B7 (Engine Coolant Flow Insufficient) & P0599 (Thermostat Control Circuit High), indicating a faulty thermostat that will need to be replaced.

Inspected and Found – We found code P0128 (Coolant Thermostat – Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature), indicating a stuck open thermostat and keeping the cooling fan on after the vehicle is shut off. The battery is also testing poor at 65%. During our final test drive, the check engine light returned with code P0430 (Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 2), and will need a new catalytic converter to repair.

Inspected and Found – We found the coolant level was slightly low, but after topping off, found no flow through the heater or radiator, indicating a possible issue with the water pump. When we removed the water pump, we did not find an impeller issue, but did find signs of it leaking, and have replaced it due to that issue. With no signs of the water pump causing the lack of flow issue, we believe a stuck-closed thermostat is the next possible cause, and recommend having it replaced. We also found that the radiator is leaking and will also need to be replaced. The customer has declined any further repair at this time, and we have only filled the system with water due to the radiator leak. With only water in the cooling system, there is no freeze protection and recommend flushing with coolant as soon as possible, otherwise engine damage could occur.
