All of the other vehicle fluids, tune-up items, belts, and coolant hoses are in good condition at this time. The front brakes have approx. 90% remaining The rear brakes have approx. 20% remaining The air filter was very dirty and we performed a cleaning service. The check engine light was on with code P0456 (EVAP System Very small Leak), as well as a "Gas Cap" message on the information center. We could hear an exhaust leak at the passenger side exhaust manifold.

    • Inspected and found – We found codes U010C (Lost communication with turbo control module), P00AF (Turbo boost control module performance), P003A (Turbo boost module position exceeds max limit), and P0868 (Line pressure low). We cleared the codes and the P00AF and P003A returned. The engine is lacking boost. The Variable Geometry Turbo is sticking at times. All circuits test OK. It will likely need the turbo replaced, however, we also found the air filter is collapsed due to restriction, as well as the intake hose was collapsed and torn. We recommend replacing the air filter and intake hose, then retesting the turbo. The transmission fluid was 1.5 quarts low. We topped it off.
    • Inspected & Found – We transmission fluid was low with no obvious signs of leaking. The transfer case fluid is starting to get dark. All of the other vehicle fluids are full and in good condition. The fuel filters may be due for replacement, depending on when it was last done. The belt and coolant hoses are in good condition. Front brakes are at about 80%. Rear brakes are at about 30%.

    • Inspected and Found – We found codes C1027 (Left Rear Wheel Speed Signal Erratic) and U0415 (Implausible Data from ABS. We did not experience the grinding noise that was being hear, however, the left rear park brake shoe is becoming de-laminated from the backing and could be the source of the grinding noise being heard. The parking brake shoes will need to be replaced, as well as the left rear wheel speed sensor.

    • Inspected and Found – The font differential pinion seal is leaking and will need to likely replace both the seal and the pinion yoke. We found codes P24A0 (Closed Loop Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Regeneration at Control Limit), and P04DB (Crankcase Vent System Disconnected). Both codes are not current. The DPF or temperature sensor may be failing. There is no obvious problems at this time, but we do recommend replacing the crankcase filter due to the drivers information center saying that it is due. The SRS (Safety Restraint System) light is on with codes B0028 (Right Side Seat Squib) and B0020 (Left Side Seat Squib). These codes immediately reset.

All of the other vehicle fluids are full and in good condition. The fuel filter may be due, depending on when it was last done. The belt and coolant hoses are in good condition. Front and rear brakes are all at about 80+%. There is some play in all 4 of the ball joints. Both of the front axle joints are in very bad condition.

    • Inspected and Found – We found wiring has been damaged and pulled out of the passenger side headlight connector. We will need to replace the connector to fix this issue. All of the ball joints and steering gear box sector shaft have play. There is a very slight amount of play in the drag link, and the front axle u-joints appear to be original equipment.

    • dropped of early due to truck dying on him while driving. Was also having trouble turning the steering wheel at times. Inspected and Found – When the vehicle was dropped off, we found the water pump was leaking onto the belt, most likely causing the squeak noise concern. We will need to replace the water pump and belt. We could not find any codes and the 4×4 is working as it should for us at this time. We believe the vibration while driving is coming from wheel sticky weights missing. We recommend having the tires balanced to see if that takes care of the vibration.
    • WATER PUMP – Remove & Replace – 1500,V8,5.7L Eng
    • COOLING SYSTEM – Clean & Flush – [DOES NOT include R&R hoses and thermostat.]
    • Power Steering Flush
    • Inspected & Found – All of the vehicle fluids, tune-up items, and coolant hoses are in good condition at this time. The front brakes have approx. 80% remaining The rear brakes have approx. 50% remaining We could hear an exhaust leak at cold start-up, due to 2 broken rear manifold bolts on both sides of the engine.
